HISTORY

The mountain farmhouse was built approx. 500 years ago on the sunny side of the beautiful Alpbach Valley in the Kufstein district in Tyrol. The farmstead is situated at approx. 1,000 metres above sea level. The gradient of the mountain meadows is partially up to 45°, which hardly enables the utilisation of present-day machinery.
The old Haidacher Hof burned down on Christmas Eve in 1924 and was rebuilt after approx. one year. We, Brigitte and Thomas Eberharter, acquired the farmhouse in July 2004. The Haidacher Hof was in very bad condition down to the foundation wall. Yet with considerable diligence the farmhouse was rebuilt true to original as much as possible according to old photographs. The new Haidacher Hof has now been utilised as a farmstead for organically raised goats since October 2004. In 2005, the new goat barn and cheese dairy were completed and the first goat products were sold. Since 2006 we have been a member of the agricultural associations "BIO AUSTRIA" as well as "TIROLER SPEIS".
